Ok, I still don't have some fun quip about life, or what this blog is about to put here. Someday - perhaps tomorrow perhaps two years from tomorrow - I will figure it out. Until then, see my randomness below.

I just wanna live

For the people who read my blog regularly I would like to apologize to both of you. My absence was not intentional, I have simply been out living my life and what a week plus it was.

First I want to talk about the people I met from San Diego. They were five of the nicest, sincerest, coolest people I have ever met in my life. They were in town doing research for "The Laramie Project." After only moments with them I felt like I knew them for years and wanted to spend all the time I could with them. As a result I spent one evening drinking and partying like rockstars with them and went to dinner with them the next night. I don't know how many people know what it is like to know someone for minutes and feel like you have known them for years. It was a magical experience and I highly recommend everyone experience it once.

The second experience I want to immortalize is my oral arguments for my appellate advocacy class. This was another great feeling. I prepared all week. I spent the whole day putting my files together, finalizing my written copy, and worried about what questions I was going to be asked. I don't remember being so nervous speaking in front of anyone since my FIRST debate. I was speaking in front of the local district judge, an adjunct faculty in international law, and a third year student. At the end I was told I spoke a bit too fast (well, I was a debater) but that there was no question I knew the material and that I was good at answering tough questions. The district court judge mentioned that he has set with the state supreme court on occasion and was more impressed with the four of us than with some practicing attorneys in the state. I haven't felt that kind of high since it was announced that I was a gold medalist at Phi Rho Pi Nationals. I experienced my whole debate career in an hour and a half. It was a heck of a rush, and I can't wait to do it again.
